Birthdays are Nature's Way of telling us to Eat More Cake!

Today was my Assistant's (60th) Birthday (yes 60, but she's got the same energy and fun personality of someone 20years younger) and I was so looking forward to helping her celebrate a little. The office really got her good, since she's always making a big to do of everyone else's signature birthdays. One of her BFF's found her old high school photo and another one with a pirate from a cruise and hung them around the building. It was so hillarious not to mention they put the same photo on her cake. Luckily she's such a good sport about things and we all had a great laugh throughout the day. Here is a picture of the bag and card I did for her.
I have some other cakes (cards that is) that I made similar to the one you see above, but in different flavors...lol. I'll upload those tonight to share also. **sn: For those of you who noticed, Yes this is the same card on one of my earlier posts and this is who I was making it for so I had to show the bag and card as a set together.** Smooches...

This was going to require a lot of lunch sacrifices.... but after watching her VIDEO **sn: (I was doing the Sun Drop {conmmercial} dance-- don't laugh, I gots rhythm)** I couldn't believe she said and showed my name. Anyhew, now I won't have to skip any meals and will be able to EAT & CREATE! Thanks soooo much Emma! I hope to Do You Proud with this release.

Well I sort of did because when reading other blogs, everyone is always so nice with their comments. I was hoping that my posts and crafts would make you feel welcoming to comment with me too. I feel so Blessed to have met soooo many of you in person and via blogging that I know the friendships will only grow more and more. I'll try to keep this at the top of my Blog.

Happy Father's Day

OK, so I'm late posting this, but to me it's always Father's Day, just like it's always Mother's Day especially if you have children. I did get all of my cards needed done for Father's Day, even through this terrible sickness I've been dealing with. I don't know if it's the Flu or Strep Throat. Regardless of which I am feeling really terrible and my throat feels like some has sandpaper in it and holding a lit match. I've been trying to push through it by being a tough girl and all, but I think my body is saying..."girlfriend we need some rest". Soooo in spite of me not being 100%, I still wanted to make my DH feel special on this day. And just like the wonderful man he is, I ended up getting flowers and a card from him on a weekend that should have been all about him. He's certainly the sweetest. He deserved this card and a whole lot more...(p.s. I had to use another sheet of paper to cover up the inside personal message to my Babe.)
Check back soon, I can't believe I'm almost at 100+ followers. I have a lot planned when I do. Smooches...

Crafty Goddess

Hey yall it's Throwback Thursday time over at Emma's on My Creative Time. We get to use any Cricut Lite cartridge of our choosing and you must incorporate some bling in your project. Here are the main details:
***Use ANY "Cricut Lite" cartridge of YOUR choice & PLEASE incorporate some "BLING" somewhere on any project of your choice! Example, your project must have either, stickles, rhinestones, glossy accents, glitter.... etc...!
IF YOU DO NOT OWN ANY LITE CARTRIDGES, USE ANY "OLDER" CARTRIDGE YOU OWN!
Head on over there for some more of the details and join us. You have until June 22nd. For my entry I decided to use the Twinkle Toes Lite Cartridge. This is just the cutest cartridge. I wanted to do a project showcasing something with scrapping. Then I remembered I won one of Emma's bonus stamp sets. I've been wanting to use this cart for some time now so I took it out. On the Twinkle Toes cart there was one image I kept going back too and decided, hey I can put a twist on this and use it in my project. I think it was very clever of me if I do say so myself.
Recipe:
Papers: Bazzil Basics Bling, Recollections, Me & My Big Ideas (Pattern Paper)
Cart: Twinkle Toes, Simply Charmed (Scissors & Glue)
A2 Card Base
Embellies: Ribbon $1 Bin, Bling (Shoes & Bows), Stickles (Scissors), Bows on Ribbon (left over from previous cut outs)
Tools: Fiskars Boarder Punch, My Creative Time Bonus Stamp, PKS Everyday Character Faces, White Gel Pen

The Crafty Goddess Bear was cut at 3", Glue & Scissors at 1.5", Stamped Sentiment & Inked edges, used While Gel Pen on cheeks & eyes. I just love how this came out. I may have to do another one similar to it. Thanks for stopping by. Smooches...

My Craft Space...

Ohhhh Nooo I can't believe I'm sharing this, but one of the talented crafters that I follow; Christina over at "Creations with Christina" challenged us to show our craft space. Well I don't have the exclusive dedicated rooms like most of you may have out there, but my area is a combination office space (for the house) and my craft space/area. When my daughter was being born, my DH wanted to make sure I had an area to still do my crafting being that we had to make room for the baby. Well before he could even tell me his vision of how to re-organize the down stairs front area, I was fighting him tooth and nail about how I didn't think it would work and it would be too crowded and cramped if more than one person wanted to work in the area. Luckily for him, he went ahead with his vision and when he was done. I was SUPER HAPPY!! Needless to say when I got a chance to play in my space, the first thing I made was a Thank You card for DH. I've loved my craft space ever since. It's just the space I need... for now. I can craft until the weee hours without disturbing anyone else in the house. Thanks again hubby. So here I dare share my craft space with you all out there. It needs a bit cleaning up and re-organizing, but that's a never ending task for us crafters if you know what I mean.
This is on the right side and where I sit to craft. Used to be a mock fireplace with mantle. We have a big copier in the far corner wall. I'm hoping to get rid of it because we never use it and the ink is too expensive for it.
Another view of my working desk and my True Blue Expression.
A right-side corner view of the above pics, facing my work area. A few punches on a rail I mounted. Other punches are in my drawer under the desk. On top of mantle is Stickles, Flocking Powder, some Ribbon dispensers, My coloring markers...etc. My quick grab accessories.
Two bookshelves directly behind or opposite my craft desk that hold all my paper supplies and other tools. My Laptop over in the hide-away cubbord to the right of the picture. Extra crates to hold all of my cricut cartridges (in a box for now) as soon as we get that copier out of the way.
Soooo it's not the grand palace of Scrap Rooms, but like I said "It works for ME" **sn: Frankly my dear... (you know the rest)** LOL!

BEST Dad in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD

Hi Everyone,
The time is approaching and I'm fast away at making me some Father's Day cards. Today's design is a Cricutless Challenge going on over at Pink By Design community blog. If haven't heard of this site... Where have you been??? Head on over there and make sure you sign up and join in with us. It's the best community out there; Why???? B-Cuz It's... 4 Crafters, By Crafters (4C-BC). We were all challenge to put away our Gypsy, Expression, Imagine, E2, Create or what ever cricut cutting machine you have and take it back ol' skool style. I sure remember the days before cricut. Here's my take on a card I made for my Dad. I have others I'm working and he always gets more than one card from me so I'm off to creating again. I'm am the only girl of 6 brothers born, but now living 4. All are older than me except one, But I'm still and will always be my daddy's "choo choo train" no matter how old I get. **sn: you betta not be laughing at my daddy's girl name**. I Love YOU DADDY!!!
All the papers are from DCWV (The Guy Stack) & Recollections. For a male card, you can't get to frilly with it, so I had to resist any ribbon or bling. I soon settled with the buttons (from my stash). Real Men Love Buttons Too! Enjoy, Smooches...

Happy Retirement!!

Just a Quick Post... How could I have forgotten to show this. I guess I was working so quickly to get it done that I didn't even think to take pictures or let alone write down the recipe notes... Why do I continue to work under this kind of pressure. Today we had someone from my job retiring and we all brought in food to sit down and share a luncheon with our fellow employee. We'll use anything in our work place to have a reason to bring in food and eat. Do you work in a place like that?...(lol). I tell ya, the pounds there is no way to stay on any type of diet in this place. Anyhew, here are some quick, not so good, pictures of the banner that I took in our conference room. (you can click on the photo to see it larger). Smooches...

SCRAP HAUL!

Man Oh Man! Do I have a Scrap Haul for you all. I wasn't even looking for anything. (those are the best kinds of finds). I Just thought I'd make a stop to kill some time on my way to an appointment and Boy did I hit the Jack Pot! It was a bit too much to get it all out of the car last night. **sn: truth is, I didn't want my hubby to see it. I've made a promise to myself to cut way back (or out) any scrap shopping for a while due to us making some financial changes to reach a more positive financial goal.**. I hope he never reads this, or I'm B-U-S-T-ED!!. I'll have some picture of everything to post as soon. I'm sooo serious about these deals that I don't even want to tell anyone where I go them yet because I think I might go back and get some more and I don't want any locals to go and get the rest before ME!. Sounds selfish I know, but the TRUTH. I know you'd  do the same too, so don't go shaking your finger or ATG Gun at me. (lol). Not to worry, I believe I have enough to share with my blog pals out there. I'm almost to 100 Followers and when I reach it, there will be give-aways for a whole week everyday. WOO HOOO!!!!  SPREAD THE WORD and tell your friends and fellow followers to come on over and help Increase my Followers Count.

I have some other projects I'm working on to show you too. I've just been caught up with soooo many graduations, grad parties, office retirement & birthday party...etc. Things should slow down around Saturday afternoon or evening. I've been crafting, but haven't had a chance to take or post any pictures. I can't wait to share it all. Check Back Often, You won't want to miss anything. Smooches...

Happy 2nd Birthday to My Sunshine "Felice Ruby-Ann"

OK, I've been M.I.A. for a while, but for darn good reason. Planning and preparing for my first & only daughter's 2nd Birthday. I want to make sure all her days are special because she certainly does that for me each and every time she looks at me with those beautiful eyes. I had to make quite a few party favors and I didn't get the help I thought I was going to have putting them together so I was up all night in over drive trying to make sure everything was done. This year we decided to take the party to an outside location and let them worry about the setup and clean up. **sn: (That is the BEST idea ever, especially when you're working against time and have a ton of other things on your plate all at once)**. The party was at Monkey Joe's a cool fun place for kids where they can jump around, play games, eat and make new friends. Everyone had a nice time and after all was said and done, I was completely pooped. Pooped I tell ya! I slept and stayed in all day Sunday and my body sure needed it. Here is the progression of all that I made for her party. There's going to be a lot of photos taken, but dang it, it took a lot of time to make so I'm going to post them for all to see. Smooches...
I'm especially PROUD of myself for how my very 1st Rosette came out (see above). I got the idea from Tammy Skinner over at Creative Critterz. She has two videos on it and she made it look so easy... and when I tried it, it actually was. I was soo, soo PROUD of myself. **sn:(I was doing a little happy dance when I finished it. Now that's a sight I'd have to charge you to see...LOL)** I know I'll be doing a lot more of these from now on. I see these becoming some GREAT Grad Gifts to wear for family members at a graduation; just like Tammy showed in her video. Thanks for the wonderful idea Tammy. YOU ROCK GIRLFRIEND!!!
I used several different carts to make these, but I'll have to go back into my gypsy to remember which ones. I'm sure some of them are obvious to most, which one I used. All in all everyone had a great time. Thanks goodness I made extra favors, because for some reason the Adults wanted one too. I might be mistaken, but I thought it was a kids party (lol). I know my guests and regardless of how many kids, I have to prepare for them also. Next year her party is going to have a much shorter guest list. LOL! Hope you Enjoyed! Goodnight, Smooches...

Happy Graduation!! Class of 2011

Soo many cards, sooo little time... I've been making quite a few graduation cards lately as you can tell from my postings. It's just that time of year again. I have to always make extra now, some for me and my Mom, since she feels I'm her personal Hallmark or American Greetings card store. **sn: I'd do anything for my Mom she is THE BEST, but don't tell her that; she might go over board on going through my card stash...lol **
These are just a few of them, but I'm going to have to duplicate a lot of these to make sure I have enough (hopefully Mom won't drain me one swoop) **sn: maybe I shouldn't show her all of them; only the ones I want her to choose from...tee hee hee **. Anyhew, hope you like. You know we bloggers love, love, love comments so feel free to leave me some love. Smooches...
p.s. Forgive me for not having the recipe to share right now but I worked on these all at the same time and forgot to take my notes as I was doing them. I'll have to go back and check my gypsy to see and meaure things out. I'll share that later if anyone is interested.

It's PKS Time - Sketch Challenge #53 with a Twist

Ok, Ok...so I left a few element out on this challenge. I've since revisited by design because I know it needed a little more something, but I just could figure out what at the time. I've added a touch or two to it and now I think this is it for it. You be the judge. (See After & Before).
AFTER
OK, I've been crafting away working on soooo many projects at once, that I'm frantic about if I'm going to get to finish them all in time. When I saw this challenge over on Peachy Keen Stamps (one of my all time FAVORITE stamp places in the whole wide world). I couldn't resist as I figured I could incorporate what I'm already working on into this sketch challenge. Head on over there to the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog and join us all in on the fun:
THE CHALLENGE
Sketch Challenge with a TWIST

-- Create a card based on the layout AND twist provided (Peachy Keen Stamps are not required for this challenge, but if you got 'em, we always love to see what you create with them!)
-- Project must include basic elements from provided sketch & a sponging technique (here is a great tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers if you haven't tried it before.)
Here's my take on the Challenge:

BEFORE
Recipe:
A2 Card Base
Papers = Recollections, Stampin' Up (Summer Sun), Pattern Graduation Paper
Carts = Easter 2010 (Doily), Locker Talk (Graduation Cap)
Tools = EK Success Punch (Scallop Circle), Martha Stewart Glitter (Silver), MS Metallic Ink (Doily, Scallop Circle and Card Base)
Stamps = PKS Everyday Character Faces
I have so many graduations coming up that I don't want to be caught at the last minute trying to make one. Not to mention my daughter's party is this Saturday and I haven't made the party favors yet. I've done a lot of cut outs, but I just haven't pieced everything together yet. Then there's Father's Day just around the corner. Aiyee Vey! Anyhew, I hope you all like what I came up with. Please feel free to share your comments. Don't forget to check out the challenge and the other designers that have some Beautiful creations themselves. Smooches....
