School Spirit!!!

Hi Everyone,
It's getting close to that time for kids to go back to school. My stepdaughter is anxious as this is her Senior year. I'm excited for her too. My little one will be starting day care for the first time in September. I'm trying to prepare myself as much as I can, but am certainly doing my research and asking a lot of questions at these centers. You can't be too careful these days.
Anyhew enough of that, I'm here to share with you this quick shaped card I made. It's been a while since I've  done one of these and I will certainly be doing more. Well I couldn't let Back to School get started without creating at least one tribute to it. I used the Locker Talk Cartridge for this one. Let me know your Smoochy Thoughts...lol

Back to School

Hi My Friends,
It's been a little while, I know. I took some family time and we took our daughter to her first visit to the Most  Magical Place on Earth (Disney World). This was her first visit (of many more to come) and when I tell you she really enjoyed herself, there aren't enough words to describe her excitement. She's only 3 and she certainly got the Disney Royal Treatment including having Breakfast with the Disney Princesses. Those precious moments on her face and words of expression are priceless and worth every dollar spent. Anyhew, I couldn't wait to get back and craft, I got so much inspiration from the trip too. After work I came home to get in this quick card for Action Wobble Chalenge - "Back to School" and Cricut Cardz Challenge - "School's Cool". I had to dust off my Locker Talk cartridge, but I'm sure it will get some good use for a while. Hope you like. Until next time, Scrap you later...

The card size is 5x5. The papers used are DCWV (Grade School Stack), Recollections. Used PKS July Stamp Kit of the Month (SKOTM). I use a star punch and EK Success from the bottom and added some stickles to give some bling/shine to the card. That's it! I'm not sure if I'm ready for "Back to School" because that means that my little one will be starting Daycare for the first time. I've been so fortunate for my mom & dad keeping her while DH and I worked. I'm so nervous, but a little excited for her too. I've heard stories about how sick children get once they start daycare and my little sunshine has been very fortunate to only have to see her doctor during her regular check ups. I'm praying that she will not go through the horror stories I've heard. Back to my card...I would love to hear from you. Your comments brighten my day.

Altered Composition Notebook

Hello Friends,
I have a lot of posts today, so make sure to check back here often. Don't forget about my "MEGA MONDAY BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY" [click here for more info]. By now all children should be somewhat adjusted with being back in school. The routines around the house are getting back on track and everyone is settling into a new normal. I created this project of an Altered Composition Book for my step-daughter who's in high school. I wanted to surprise her with and she Loved It! Now, she's putting in requests for others that she wants done. Of course I would be happy to do more for her. This Composition Book is being entered into My Pink Stamper's Blog Hop Challenge - "School Theme Project" (cannot be a card or layout). Also this was a perfect fit for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog (FCCB) - "Back to School" (use ABCs and/or 123s on your project).

First Day of "DAYCARE"...

Hello Friends,
Well we know its that time again, for kids to go Back To School/First Day of School, buses, slower traffic, school zones, PTA meetings, Open House... well you get the drill. Even though my little one is only 2, I still feel like I need to get things on track too. I have plenty of nieces, nephews and god-children that fit this bill enough for me and I am taking much note for when my little is ready. I've seen a lot of sites that have given me so much inspiration on how this back to school thing works for the children and their teachers. I think I better get started on my teacher treats now...lol. Anyhew I decided that I still wanted to participate in some of the back-to-school challenges out there so I put a little twist on my creation. I'm still not that ready to release the strings for my "sunshine" (Felice) to leave me just yet. I've been having the most Ahhh-Mazing Summer being home with her for the first time this entire Summer. Some days though, I don't know how you SAHM do it; and I only have one. She's is Full Throttle all the time and when it's time for her nap, I feel like I need one too...lol. Seriously, I sometimes feel like I'm going to catch a case...(with myself that is). This motherhood thing is still new for me and I'm not sure if I'm even close to ready to have another one. DH is going to have to wait this one out with me for while. OK, I'm rambling... let me get back to my project. Here is a Layout  **sn: (yes, I said Layout... it's been too long since I've done one of these)** I did for Felice (pronounced: Feh-leece, like Feliz Navidad) when she gets ready to start her
"First Day of... Daycare". I figure that's sort of like going to school; there's learning time, recess, nap time...etc. All the fun things that Mommy has been doing at home with her, but she'll get to experience this with other little ones her own age. I know I'll be ready when the time comes. I hope it was ok to put a twist on this for some of the challenges I'm entering this into.

Happy Graduation!! Class of 2011

Soo many cards, sooo little time... I've been making quite a few graduation cards lately as you can tell from my postings. It's just that time of year again. I have to always make extra now, some for me and my Mom, since she feels I'm her personal Hallmark or American Greetings card store. **sn: I'd do anything for my Mom she is THE BEST, but don't tell her that; she might go over board on going through my card stash...lol **

 These are just a few of them, but I'm going to have to duplicate a lot of these to make sure I have enough (hopefully Mom won't drain me one swoop) **sn: maybe I shouldn't show her all of them; only the ones I want her to choose from...tee hee hee **. Anyhew, hope you like. You know we bloggers love, love, love comments so feel free to leave me some love. Smooches...
p.s. Forgive me for not having the recipe to share right now but I worked on these all at the same time and forgot to take my notes as I was doing them. I'll have to go back and check my gypsy to see and meaure things out. I'll share that later if anyone is interested.

It's PKS Time - Sketch Challenge #53 with a Twist

Ok, Ok...so I left a few element out on this challenge. I've since revisited by design because I know it needed a little more something, but I just could figure out what at the time. I've added a touch or two to it and now I think this is it for it. You be the judge. (See After & Before).

AFTER

OK, I've been crafting away working on soooo many projects at once, that I'm frantic about if I'm going to get to finish them all in time. When I saw this challenge over on Peachy Keen Stamps (one of my all time FAVORITE stamp places in the whole wide world). THE CHALLENGE

Sketch Challenge with a TWIST

 

-- Create a card based on the layout AND twist provided (Peachy Keen Stamps are not required for this challenge, but if you got 'em, we always love to see what you create with them!) 

-- Project must include basic elements from provided sketch & a sponging technique (here is a great tutorial from Splitcoast Stampers if you haven't tried it before.)

I have so many graduations coming up that I don't want to be caught at the last minute trying to make one. Not to mention my daughter's party is this Saturday and I haven't made the party favors yet. I've done a lot of cut outs, but I just haven't pieced everything together yet. Then there's Father's Day just around the corner. Aiyee Vey! Anyhew, I hope you all like what I came up with. Throwback Thursday Challenge with Emma

Hi Everyone,

I've been heavily creating projects and working past my computer issues but I figured I better post some of what I'm working on and keep posting as I go. I must say I love, love, love Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenges, you never know what she's going to "throw" at you. Yeah...cheezy I know, I couldn't resist. Anyhew this is what we were asked to do.

Here are the details for this challenge:

***Use ANY "OLDER" cartridge of YOUR choice & PLEASE incorporate the color GREEN & YELLOW somewhere on any project of your choice!

I used Locker Talk & Plantin Schoolbook for my older cartridges. Since it's graduation time I have a lot of family friends who have children that are graduating so I figured I make me a few cards to have on hand. Here's one of the many. I have to re-take photos of the other ones because for some reason after uploading the pic, it somehow became cut off. Here is my creation for the challenge.
