Happy Mother's Day...

Here are some cards that I put together the weekend of Mother's Day for my Mom, Sister-in-Law and her Mom. ENJOY!

Embellies = Crystal Stickles to sparkle up the center body part of the butterflies and White Gel pen to put a little dimension on the wings, Pearls/Ribbon from the $1 Bin, K & Company 3D Butterfly, Multi-Pack of Gems from Michael's, Flower/Star Brad & 3D (Word) Stickers from Joann's.
Ink = ColorBox & Studio G to distress the edges of the card

Recepie:

Papers = K & Company, Recollections, Best Occaisions.
Tools = Martha Stewart Buttery Edger Punch, EK Success Mini-Butterfly Punch.
Embellies = Crystal Stickles to sparkle up the center body part of the butterflies and White Gel pen to put a little dimension on the wings, Prima Flower (Recollections).
Ribbon = $1 Bin
Ink = Martha Stewart Metallic ink pads (mini ones stack) to distress the edges of the card

Still Alive & Scrapin'...

Yes, I know, I know... it's been waaaay tooo long since I've had a post and I have no excuse for it other than just plain laziness. **sn: It feels so much better when I just put it all out there.**. Anyhew, I have definitely been crafting away, but I haven't put any photos up of what I've done. I decided before I loose my followers (I really love you all for sticking with me) I'd better show you what I've been up to. I'm going to combine all of my photos below and just make it this quick and easy for you to view. I've been doing some crafts for Mother's Day, National Scrapbook Day and Birthdays. I'll come back and provide the recepie for these later, just wanted to get something for you all to see so you know that I'm alive and Still Scrapin'. Oh, oh, before I forget. Alot of these were entered in the National Scrapbooking Day Challenges (NSD)over at My Pink Stamper with Robyn. There were 12 challenges for every hour and I never thought I could work so fast. Not that I completed them all in one our but my mind was buzzing with ideas each time there was a new one posted. The contest is over and I didn't win anyting, but I soooo loved the challenge and seeing where my imagination could take me.

Happy Sweet 16th Birthday!! & Happy 1yr Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to my step-daughter (Keionta) who's a Blossoming Sweet 16 today. You are Beautiful, Smart and So Much Fun to be around. We Love You Dearly; Smooches... w/chocolate on top (lol). I also want to wish another little guy who's birthday is today of my co-worker's. He just turned 1 year old today. I worked on a few things for both of them, but I'm still finishing up my step-daughter's. It's hard to work on it when she's around because she lives with us and likes crafting too. I still want it to be a surprise for her and this is also my first time trying this craft so if it doesn't turn out right. I'll have to come up with a quick plan B...lol. Anyhew here is a gift bag and card that I made for my co-worker's son's birthday.

I also created him a little Easter treat that showing next to the back. It's filled with little Baby treats I'm sure he'll enjoy. He's a little too young for the chocolate bunny phase yet. I put this together really quick so the recipe for it will come later if anyone wants it.

P.S. I have some wonderful news to share with you all that happened to me over the weekend. You have to come back later to see what that was. I get all squeely about it everytime I think of it.

It's Wacky Wednesday #35 at More Than Favors by Paula

Anyhew, I did get those baskets finished, all 14 of them and the kids and parents really liked them. Easter Baskets - I'm Back with a Spring in my Step

Hi Everyone,

I'm back and feeling a whole lot better these days. Thanks so much for the concerned emails and comments. I truly feel special by your get well wishes. Ok well on to what I've been working on and will be working on more as this week unfolds. My family is getting together to hold a long overdue Easter Egg hunt with the kids this Saturday and I'm making a few little Easter basket treats for the little ones so they don't feel left out because I know the older kids will try to take all the eggs faster than they can. I have to make ten treat baskets. I'll tell you I did it to myself again! I made a simple treat basket in my head, but then when I went to put craft to paper, well.... I just couldn't help myself and ended up going beyond the idea I had in mind which would have been quicker and simple. **sn: I know the little ones won't even care about the details I put into these, but their parents better sure notice...lol** I have pictures to show the step-by-step I went through in making one of them. Now I have the other nine to complete today. I can say, that I only needed One Cart [Easter 2010 - Seasonal Cartridge] to put together the whole thing and I know the older kids are going to be jealous but I know they'll have more eggs in their basket anyway and wouldn't want to swap their eggs for their treat baskets. Easter Basket Recipe:

Cart = Easter 2010 Seasonal Cartridge

Papers = Best Occaisions Pastels, DCWV Bright Color Cardstock

Easter Basket w/Handle = 10 3/4" cut at "Fit To-Page"

Easter Bunny Head = 2 3/4 used "Auto Fill"; I used my Gypsy to hide the facial features.

Grass = 2 3/4" used "Auto Fill"

PKS = PK-490 Everyday Character Faces. Used the Extra Large Face Stamp *(I drew in the Rabbit Teeth, Nose and Whiskers)

Stampin' Up Chalks = Colored in Blushed Cheeks and Distressed around the Rabbit Face

Studio G = Pink Flocking Powder for Fuzzy Ears

Stickles = Black Rabbit Nose

Easter Stickers = Had in my stash for while. One of the $1 Stores, can't remember where.

Used Tacky Tape to seal the basket together since I know it will be hold some easter goodies and I didn't want it to break. I'll be filling with the Treats later and take pics once all of them are complete. I'm sure filling a Spring in my Step lately. I hope Spring Has Sprung for YOU! Until next time, Smooches...

Not feeling to well...

Hey Everyone,

Just a quick update to let you know that I haven't abandoned you all. I haven't been feeling so hot lately and no mood or energy to craft either. I have a doctor's appointment today. There's been this nasty cold going around where I work and I've managed to steer clear of catching anything thus far, but maybe not this time. I don't get sick very often so I'm not going to claim it now either. We'll see what the doctor has to say. I will have some posts up soon of something things I've been doing on my gypsy. Until then, everyone take special care and share with someone that you Love Them today. Smooches...

Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge #11 - Forever Young

It's that time again everyone. The CCCC is ON! This week it is being hosted by Meriah over at Two Scraptastic Gals Meriah and Paula do alternating weeks. Scrappy Moms Terrific Tuesday Challenge - Smiley Cards

I wanted to enter into another challenge on cartridge I've been meaning to try, but this isn't a physical cartridge, it's one that came with the Gypsy during the holiday special when purchased. So over at Scrappy Moms Stamps they have these Terrific Tuesday Challenges and I just couldn't past this one up. Here's the skinny on how the challenge goes:

My 1st Cricut Cartridge Chaos Challenge (CCCC)

Hey Everyone,

Paula over at More that Favors host this weekly challenge, alternating weeks with Meriah, at Two Scraptastic Gals. I've been wanting to enter for a while now because I have most of the cartridges that have been in the challenges lately. Well, I decided at the last minute that night to just go for it. Here are a few of the details about the challenge that Paula explains on her blog:

If this is your first time tuning in here is how this will work. Meriah and I will alternate weeks posting the challenge. Last week Meriah posted the Challenge and this weeks its me. There will always be a poll up on the right hand side where you can vote for the cartridge that you would like us to use next week. The Challenge will run from Monday - Sunday. On Monday's along with our winner we will post the New Projects! I hope you will Join us!

Pattern Weaving

Happy Friday Everyone!
I've had this pattern in my head for quite a while now and finally decided to put thought to paper last night. I used various patterned papers from:
DCWV - The GUY Stack
k*i Memories - Classic Patterns
Best Occaisions - ?? (can't remember the name)
Recipie:
I cut two, 1/2" strips of patterned paper from each set at 4 1/4" length. I then proceeded to weave the strips into one another in an alternating manner, very carefully, until I got them all together and I then adhered it to my A2 Kraft Card Base. I used EK Success Punch with DCWV stack on the "smile" portion. Inked up the edges, as well as the tips of the strips, and did some stitching around the card base. Hope you like it. I'll be trying this a lot more often and hopefully getting . Smooches...

Birthdays are Nature's way of telling us to Eat More Cake...

Hi Everyone,

I am soooo proud of myself. I've almost gotten my craft organization finished. Just a little more touches here and there and a little more storage space savers to go. I almost think I'm making things too organized. I almost don't want to touch anything and move it out of place for fear I'll mess it up again. Hey, who am I kidding that what we scrappers do...lol!

Anyhew, one of my co-workers has a birthday coming up and I almost forgot about it. **sn: I try to tell people..."My Head Bad", but they don't listen**. I came home and thought what could I do. Buying a card would be totally Out Of the Question!!! Not from a True Sworn Scrapper like myself. **sn: Sometimes I think this talent of ours can be a curse, now everyone will expect a hand-made card or craft of some sort...NOT! LOL!***

OK, I'm rambling now. Here are a few pictures of what I came up with. I won't spoil the surprise on what I gave them, but I'm sure it will come in handy. My intentions were to make something quick, **sn: for some reason my thoughts of a project is always quick, but the task at hand always seems to be a little longer than planned** then I realized I didn't have a bag for the gift either. Luckily for me I bought these set of kraft bags from Michael's that come in a bulk of 13. Whew; boy was that a smart purchase. I've had them for a little while now, sooo I made a matching Gift Bag & Card set.

Birthday Mailbox & Card & "Think Spring"

Hey yall, my Mom asked me to whip up something really quick for her to mail as a Birthday gift to her sister. She really like the mailbox I made her and my dad for Valentine's Day. Anyhew, in the midst of my mess. Seriously I'm starting to think I'm a scrap hoarder or something **sn: I know I'm not alone in this, so maybe I'm ok after all**. My Aunt loves butterflies like I do, so I did something really quick that I'm sure she'll love. Hope yall like it too. .Uh oh, I can't belive I'm saying this, but I didn't even use my cricut or gypsy for any of it.
