"It's Carnival Time" at CWC

Hello, Hello My Friends...
It been a wonderful time going on here in my household and life lately. I truly feel the Blessings are flowing my way. I've been up to a lot and I will share as soon as I can and things become more concrete. I'll get right into the challenge going on today over at Cooking with Cricut. This week's theme is: Carnival and/or Birthday. I stepped out of my comfort zone again. I went with my first Side-Step Card. I really had fun with this and it was really easy to do. I can see me pre-making some base side-step cards for future use. This post is a little Bitter  Sweet for Me as it will be my last post for CWC Design Team. :-( I have so many things going on right now that I chose not to continue on for another term at this time. I will miss those wonderful designers, but will show up as often as I can to participate in the wonderful challenges or as a Guest Designer...hint, hint. :-). Ok onto my card...

Head on over to Cooking with Cricut and check out the rest of the Design Team's inspiration for you.
There is plenty more ahead for me and I will be sharing it with All of You Here. Please feel free to come back as often as you can. You never know when there might be some fabulous prizes in store or other goodies. Speaking of goodies, I will be having an upcoming give-away for my Be-lated Blogaversary; Who Does That?...Well ME, that's who. With everything going on I did not have to time to celebrate and plan a proper 1yr Blogaversary. So I'll be having a Be-lated Blogaversary! I'm always in the mood for a party so this one will be a lot of fun. Until next time...take care my friends I {Heart} All of YOU! Smooches...
p.s. I hear Google/Blogger with do away with the current "Followers" feature. Please take the time to Follow ME on the NEW LINK on the right. I Don't Want to Loose Touch with Any Single One of You.

CWC - Photo Inspiration

Hi My Friends,

Happy New Year to YOU ALL. Those that are New..."Welcome, WELCOME"!. For my long time bloggy Pals, "WELCOME BACK". I'm so glad to be back posting again. There are sooo many Wonderful and Exciting things going on that I have to try and find a NEW BALANCE! Not too worry, I'll get back to posting on a regular basis as soon as I can. I'm glad you decided to stop by today. It's a Cooking with Cricut (CWC) Designer's Choice Day. The DT at CWC were given the option of pairing up and choosing the next few challenge themes ourselves for each week. Today's challenge is coming from myself and Jill Lebbin of Jaihart - Just Lovely Designs. We decided to kick things off with a "Photo Inspiration" challenge:
What a Beautiful Photo for Inspiration. When I first saw this, I thought of Peace, Calm, Ice Skaters Coasting, Polar Bears Coasting over the water...etc. Then that's when my inspiration hit me... "COASTERS". I created some monogrammed coasters for us to use around the house. Mainly in our bedroom because DH always needs to have something to drink at his bedside. Putting it on the dresser or night shelf was driving me nuts because he would never use napkin or a coaster. Anyhew, this was my creative solution to that. I really like how these came out. The color is just perfect for us as it's contributing to some other Home Decor items I want to match with it later.
Now allow me to share a story with you that I can laugh at now, but I wasn't so cheerful at the time. Anyhew, the picture you see was supposed to show a set of 6 coasters. Somehow, while I was out my little 2yr old got to them when daddy wasn't watching. The others were covered in orange (cat eye)ink and yellow highlighter...SMH(lol-but I wasn't laughing then). I salvaged what I could with these. I used Lacey Labels for the top layer and base(cut out 4x's and glued together). I then cut the top layer and welded the letters from Calligraphy Collection in the center. I inked around the edges with some MS chalk ink. I'm thinking I should go back and apply some modge podge on it just to make them more durable. These would make an excellent wedding gifts for some couple. I have a wedding coming up and I just may need to replicate this. Ok, enough of my rambling... Head on over to Cooking with Cricut to see what the rest of the DT has Inspirationally Created for you. Smooches...
P.S. Don't forget about CWC's Upcoming Blog Hop this Weekend (Jan 14th & 15th), The Theme is...
"Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue"

Inking It Up Crazy - "Fun Fold Card"

Hi There My Friends,
I'm still hanging in here, with this coughing, sniffling, sneezing, sinus aching, chest congested illness of mine, but I'm determined to keep it moving. I don't have that much energy so I end of stopping and starting a lot of things before it gets completed.
Today at Inking It Up Crazy, us girls had tons of fun with this challenge of creating a "Fun Fold" type of card. I've been wanting to try so many that I've seen out there. I was inspired by Creations with Christina when she showed how to do the "Diamond Fold" card. You can check her video out Here. I'm soo into the Holidays each year (both Thanksgiving & Christmas). No matter how I'm feeling, these holidays especially make me SMILE and just Warms My Heart. Here is my Fun Fold - Diamond Fold Card. It was so fun to make that I know I'll be doing a few more.
Head on over to Inking It Up Crazy to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with. I'm sure you'll be inspired to create and venture into creating you own Fun Fold Card. For my first time I think this came out very pretty. At least I think so anyway. Of course I'm biased, but I love to hear your comments too. I will also be entering this project into Dilo En Espanol Challenge #4 - "Must use Twine" Smooches...

Cooking with Cricut Wednesday - Let's Talk Turkey

Hi My Friends,
This is my All Time Favorite time of the year. I know you've heard me say that before, but it's soooo True. The colors, the meaning, the foods, the gatherings, family, friends, reflections of thanks and Thanksgiving. It definitely keeps me in a positive, good mood no matter what's going on around me. The challenge over at Cooking with Cricut was such a fun one. It's called "Let's Talk Turkey". You get to create projects of your favorite Fall bird. Of course the main one that comes to mind for everyone is indeed the Turkey. I'm no exception to this. I was dying to do a turkey cut from one of my carts. Here is my card.
Recipe:
Cart - Create A Critter
Papers - SEI, DCWV, Recollections
Tools - EK Label Punch, MS Maple Punch, iRock, White Gel Pen, MS Metallic Ink (distressing)
Embellies - Twine, Stickles, Bling
Head on over to CWC and see what the rest of the team has cooked up. Hopefully you feel inspired to join the challenge. It was so easy and super fun making this card that I will be making more to send to a few friends for the holidays. I will also be linking/entering this card into the following challenges:
Celebrate the Occasion - Thanksgiving Project (must use a Punch)
Fantabulous Cricut - Fall Project using colors Red, Orange, Brown
Whimsical Designs - Thanksgiving Themed Card/Project
Wacky Wednesday - Thanksgiving Theme

It's Harvest Time at Cooking w/Cricut

Hi My Friends,
I've missed you all. I'm back now from having a wonderful time with friends I haven't seen in years. It was my class reunion from my Alumni, Bethune-Cookman University. We had a blast and are sooo looking forward to the next one. It was sooo good to take some time off for ME! (No Hubby, No Child-this was my first time away from her...I called a lot, my mom almost stopped answering my calls (lol) )
Today at Cooking with Cricut the design team is cooking up a Harvest. We were asked to create projects to include: Fruits and/or Cornucopia in honor of Harvest Time. I love this time of the year. Fall is my FAVORITE Season by far, the colors, family time, baking, shopping...etc. I literally become a kid all over again. I created my project using the "Celebrate with Flourish" Lite Cart. It was a great fit for me because I know I wanted to use the Cornucopia right off the bat. I love how this came out. I'll be making a few to send out for Thanksgiving and this will surely be one of them.
Recipe:
Cart: Celebrate with Flourish
Paper: Recollections, DCWV
Tools: MS (Maple Leaf & Arches Punch), EK Success Label Punch, Inkadinkado (Sentiment)
Embellies: Stickles, Twine, PTI (Button)
On this cart there are not that many layer, but I wanted mine to be as colorful as a real cornucopia so I made several different cuts to show various colors. I drew in the grapes on the cut to give more dimension to them. Don't forget to head on over to Cooking with Cricut to see what the rest of the Chefs have cooked up for your inspiration. We'd love to have you join in on this challenge. Can't wait to see what you create. Smooches...

Cookies, Cookie Monster and Clocks...

It's Design Team day at Cooking with Cricut today. This weeks theme is to create a project with Cookies, Cookie Monster and/or Clocks. For my project I used the following carts: My Community, Stamping and Sesame Street Font. I focused on the "Clock" as my main design for this challenge.
I took two photos because I noticed the glitter pen I used on the letters didn't show up so well in the first one. This card looks so much more sparkly in person. I love how it turned out. Head on over to CWC and see what other inspiration the rest of Chefs have cooked up for you.  We'd love to see what you come up with.
On another note, I never heard from the previous winner for the "Adopt a Shelter Pet Blog Hop" so I had to draw another winner via random.org. The New Winner for the Adopt a Shelter Pet Blog Hop is...
