SWOOSH!!!....

Hi My Friendly Friends,
Today I'm bringing to you a crafty card I created for  My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday Challenge - "Sport Challenge" use any cart to create a Sports Theme project. My family is very athletic. There are some younger and young at heart in some type of sports activity. I should have a lot more sports cards around on hand for various occasions but I just didn't get around to it. Well after creating this one, I can surely say that I will have to get on the ball and get more sports cards created. This card was created using the Basketball cart for the hoop, welded the letters together from the  Superman cart and used MCT's "Slam Dunk" stamp set. My god-son is a fantastic basketball player and he's only in 9th grade and almost 6' tall. This stamp set totally reminds me of him and this card will certainly be for him when I attend his next game.
The pattern paper is DCWV and Recollection. I wanted to create a shadow effect of the silhouettes by making each one darker than the previous until he reached the net. I wanted to use the image as a sequence type of stamping showing more of the image as it gets closer to the basket. I think I'll be trying this technique again for sure. I stamped the b-ball and cut that out a few times and placed on 3D dots. Then finally... He Scores!! The game is won with a "SWOOSH" of a basketball play. (lol) Hope you like how it came out too. DID YOU KNOW???... Emma from My Creative Time is also having her New Release Sneak Peak this week for MCT's January stamp release. You won't want to miss out on this. Help spread the word and join us on this challenge too. Smooches...

PTI - Creating Backgrounds/w Border Dies

Hi My Friends,
I meant to get this post up yesterday, but some urgent things came up and I had a busy morning today trying to get ready for a wedding, get things situated with my daughter, a few errands...etc. I'm just getting home and I thought I'd get this up right away. I made this card using PTI's "Rickrack Border" on serveral different papers. I really really LOVE how it turned out. I got the letters from a clearance at Big Lots and the heart from a EK Punch I had. I also added an epoxy heart from my stash to give it a little pop. I will be entering this into their Make It Monday Challenge - "Creating Backgrounds with Border Dies".
Hope you like this too. Why not join us for this PTI challenge while there's still time. Smooches...

CWC - Photo Inspiration

Hi My Friends,

Happy New Year to YOU ALL. Those that are New..."Welcome, WELCOME"!. For my long time bloggy Pals, "WELCOME BACK". I'm so glad to be back posting again. There are sooo many Wonderful and Exciting things going on that I have to try and find a NEW BALANCE! Not too worry, I'll get back to posting on a regular basis as soon as I can. I'm glad you decided to stop by today. It's a Cooking with Cricut (CWC) Designer's Choice Day. The DT at CWC were given the option of pairing up and choosing the next few challenge themes ourselves for each week. Today's challenge is coming from myself and Jill Lebbin of Jaihart - Just Lovely Designs. We decided to kick things off with a "Photo Inspiration" challenge:
What a Beautiful Photo for Inspiration. When I first saw this, I thought of Peace, Calm, Ice Skaters Coasting, Polar Bears Coasting over the water...etc. Then that's when my inspiration hit me... "COASTERS". I created some monogrammed coasters for us to use around the house. Mainly in our bedroom because DH always needs to have something to drink at his bedside. Putting it on the dresser or night shelf was driving me nuts because he would never use napkin or a coaster. Anyhew, this was my creative solution to that. I really like how these came out. The color is just perfect for us as it's contributing to some other Home Decor items I want to match with it later.
Now allow me to share a story with you that I can laugh at now, but I wasn't so cheerful at the time. Anyhew, the picture you see was supposed to show a set of 6 coasters. Somehow, while I was out my little 2yr old got to them when daddy wasn't watching. The others were covered in orange (cat eye)ink and yellow highlighter...SMH(lol-but I wasn't laughing then). I salvaged what I could with these. I used Lacey Labels for the top layer and base(cut out 4x's and glued together). I then cut the top layer and welded the letters from Calligraphy Collection in the center. I inked around the edges with some MS chalk ink. I'm thinking I should go back and apply some modge podge on it just to make them more durable. These would make an excellent wedding gifts for some couple. I have a wedding coming up and I just may need to replicate this. Ok, enough of my rambling... Head on over to Cooking with Cricut to see what the rest of the DT has Inspirationally Created for you. Smooches...
P.S. Don't forget about CWC's Upcoming Blog Hop this Weekend (Jan 14th & 15th), The Theme is...
"Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue"

TAG IT! & Winner!

Hi My Friends,
I hope everyone had a Fabulous Christmas. Mine was full of smiles and laughter. My little 2yr old certainly got her fill of Santa this year. I enjoyed a relaxing time and home with family and we ate, watch the game, ate again, went to see my parents, watch some more TV came home, had dessert and sat up until we couldn't stay up anymore. Now that's what I call a relaxing time with family. Those are the moments I live for.
Over this holiday I went to a few Christmas parties we were invited to. I always like to bring something with me to give to the host. I made these quick inspired altered projects. I got the idea from Emma @My Creative Time. I'm certain hers is a lot prettier than mine, but I was in a rush so I didn't get to embellish as much as I wanted to. All die cuts and sentiments are from My Creative Time.
Anyhew I will also be entering this project into the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut - "Trimming with a Tag" use a tag on your project
Whimsical Designs - "Tag Challenge" T.Holtz inspired or any Christmas Tag
My Craft Spot - "Tag... You're It" tags to adorn your gifts
Paper Playtime - "Anything Goes"
Also the winner of their cartridge choice from yesterday's Christmas Day Giveaway is:

MAG Challenge #56 - Paisley pg.26

Hi My Friends,
Well I'm still working away at my Christmas Cards (don't scole your eyes at me, I know I'm not the only one). Most of the ones I've done are the hand delivered ones. I need to get a mass production going for the mailed ones. Uggghhh!
Guess What Time It Is????? - "MAG Challenge by the Page" Day
Today Designers from Team 1 are using the Paisley Cart page 26. No matter what card I make these days, I have to find some way to incorporate it as a Christmas card (lol). This way it can help lower the number I have to make.
Click to view full size image
Here's my cutie pah-tootie card. I had so much fun making this that I made 3 other variations of it too. That's more cards added to my Christmas batch. Can I get a whoot whoot! I told ya any card I make these days will have some sort of Christmas in it as my time is completely running out. I need to get mine done by this weekend for sure.
I figured why couldn't this fly guy/gal get in the Christmas spirit too. So here's my Fluttering Pal, flying by to wish you a Merry little Christmas. If this doesn't inspire you , I don't know what will.(lol) Head on over to MAG and see what the rest of the DT has come up with. After getting inspired, join in on the FUN and let's see what you come up with. Remember with MAG Challenges, you can only the images on that page, but you can add all the embellies to your heart's desire.
Recipe:

Embellies: Bling/Ribbon/Floral (Michael's), Suede & Fur Santa hat (Jolee @ Target), Flock, Glitter

Snow Adorable!!!

Hi My Friends,
I'm getting into the swing of things a bit and getting a few of my cards knocked out. Here is a card I made for Peachy Keen's Tuesday Stamp Challenge - "Create any card or layout, must use PKS stamps". This was an easy one. I had this stamp from PKS that I received last year as a bonus stamp and have been waiting to use it. So here is it. My cute, little, adorable snowman. Also did you know that PKS is having an Open Design Team Call. It would be a Super Duper Dream Come True for me if I get selected. Check out their site for more details here.
I used some puffy paint on the tree to give it the snow effect all over it. I added a little glitter to make it look like the tree was glistening. The tree is a die cute from PTI and the sentiment is from MPS "Winter Punnies" and that cute snowman was colored with my markers (Bic UF Sharpies). **sn: I so need some copics for Christmas**. Topped it off with some ribbon and bling and It's Just Perfect! Ohhhh Santa??? (lol) I hope you enjoy this card too. I'll be back with more as I get things going. I'm also going to have a giveaway of my own coming up so be sure to check back. Smooches...

Getting in the Christmas Spirit

Hi My Friends,
I didn't mean to leave you wondering where I've been, but things have been crazy busy around here. Washing machine is out of wack, Water leakage in the downstairs bathroom ceiling, Car still in the shop...I could go on. Something is really trying to steal my Joy from this holiday season. I know I have the power to say..."This is Not How the Story is going to End". I'm picking myself up, dusting off and will Go on knowing that things will get better and I'm going to walk right into my Blessings with a wide smile on my face. Mr/Mrs. Bah-Humbug...does not live here!
Here is a project I meant to upload on yesterday, but I just didn't get around to it. I still have quite a few cards to make (ok, a whole lot) and I'm going to have to come up with some easy mass producing ideas. I have to get out of my mind of trying to make each card unique. I don't have that kind of time, plus we still need to get our tree...yikes!
Here's this cute little birdie that I was so excited to make. I've been thinking about him for some time and finally got him out of my head. He's being such a helper, holding those little lights for the Christmas tree.
Isn't he the cutest. I found these little mini lights at Michael's by Jolee. You'll be seeing a lot more of these. The stamp is from MPS - Winter Punnies. I used some puffy paint on his cute santa hat and added some stickles for some bling. This card will be entered into the following challenges: Cardz TV - "Crafty Christmas" (create anything Christmas themed), More than Favors' Wacky Wednesday - "Christmas Theme", Fantabulous Cricut - "make a Gift, Gift Packaging or use a Gift on your project", Scrapbookaholic by Abby - "Dilo En Español Challenge #6" Christmas Theme.

Peachy Keen Sketch & PTI Challenge - Holiday Lollipops

Hi My Friends,
Happy Monday! You ever have one of those days where you just have to get that crafty idea out of your head. Well let's just say my mind is in overdrive and I can't create fast enough. I just hope I don't loose the thoughts that are skipping around up there(lol). Anyhew when I saw this sketch challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps - Tuesday Sketch Challenge #66, I knew immediately what I wanted to do. I didn't get to it right away and it kept popping up in my head each passing day and night. So here, I finally got to get it out of my head and onto paper. Here is the sketch that we had to follow...
Here is my interpretation on it...
I really had fun making this. The idea of using my Twine to make the lollipops was a brilliant idea I think, that was the main part of the creation that was running through my head over and over again. I love my twine and I have a few more crafty ideas to use it for this holiday. This card will also be a part of the Make it Monday challenge - "Ribbon Pleating" that runs over on Papertrey Ink Blog. I created the background using a self-masking cut out of the grass hill (Memento Bamboo Leaves), I distress the sky with some MS Chalk Ink and distressed a sun into it from the corner using some ColorBox petal (Canary). I wanted to make the Twinipops look life like so I put some glossy accents on them after I got the twine down. The cloud is a die cut from PTI (Up Up & Away). Although you wouldn't know it I used the stem from their Day Dreamer set. The sentiment is also PTI from (Christmas Poinsettia). I embellished it with the PTI ribbon (Ocean Tide) and added some bling. The scallop punch is from Marvy. Papers are MS, Recollections. I hope you like it too... BTW,
DT Call Alert!!!!    DT Call Alert!!!
Did you know the World Renowned and Famous Peachy Keen Stamps is having a, yep that's right...
Head on over there (click here) and check out all the details. This would be an Awesome opportunity for anyone out there. Hope you will be sending in your submissions. I sure will. Good Luck to Everyone! Smooches...

Happy Birdthday...

Hi My Friends,
**** Happy Birthday to All the December Birthdays ****
I know we're getting into the holiday spirit and all, but I wanted to do something a little different to break up the routine. There is always someone's birthday in my family for every single month (July is our most popular month). I've run completely out and need to restock my stash. Here is a birthday card I'm going to be giving to my niece on the 14th. My nephew's is on the 23rd. So before I get all glittered and pine-coned down in my holiday gifts, decor and projects I figure I better get their cards out of the way now. Hope you really like this card. I'm entering it into the following challenges...
