Hi My Friendly Friends,
Today I'm bringing to you a crafty card I created for My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday Challenge - "Sport Challenge" use any cart to create a Sports Theme project. My family is very athletic. There are some younger and young at heart in some type of sports activity. I should have a lot more sports cards around on hand for various occasions but I just didn't get around to it. Well after creating this one, I can surely say that I will have to get on the ball and get more sports cards created. This card was created using the Basketball cart for the hoop, welded the letters together from the Superman cart and used MCT's "Slam Dunk" stamp set. My god-son is a fantastic basketball player and he's only in 9th grade and almost 6' tall. This stamp set totally reminds me of him and this card will certainly be for him when I attend his next game.
The pattern paper is DCWV and Recollection. I wanted to create a shadow effect of the silhouettes by making each one darker than the previous until he reached the net. I wanted to use the image as a sequence type of stamping showing more of the image as it gets closer to the basket. I think I'll be trying this technique again for sure. I stamped the b-ball and cut that out a few times and placed on 3D dots. Then finally... He Scores!! The game is won with a "SWOOSH" of a basketball play. (lol) Hope you like how it came out too. DID YOU KNOW???... Emma from My Creative Time is also having her New Release Sneak Peak this week for MCT's January stamp release. You won't want to miss out on this. Help spread the word and join us on this challenge too. Smooches...

Here is my project that I came up with...a Birthdat Party Favor
Something Old: Favor Tin from Joanns, Sheer Ribbon, Bling
Something New: Celebrations Paper Stack from DCWV, All Around Birthday Stamp Set
Something Borrowed: Left over Rickrack pieces from yesterday's post(trim of can), Balloon from a previous cut in my stash from the Celebrations Cart
Something Blue: Colors in the pattern paper, Blue Twine.
Now head on over to Madison’s blog, Funky Cards and see what she’s created! Here's the rest of the Blog List in case you get lost along the way.

PTI - Creating Backgrounds/w Border Dies
Hi My Friends,
I meant to get this post up yesterday, but some urgent things came up and I had a busy morning today trying to get ready for a wedding, get things situated with my daughter, a few errands...etc. I'm just getting home and I thought I'd get this up right away. I made this card using PTI's "Rickrack Border" on serveral different papers. I really really LOVE how it turned out. I got the letters from a clearance at Big Lots and the heart from a EK Punch I had. I also added an epoxy heart from my stash to give it a little pop. I will be entering this into their Make It Monday Challenge - "Creating Backgrounds with Border Dies".

CWC - Photo Inspiration
Hi My Friends,
Happy New Year to YOU ALL. Those that are New..."Welcome, WELCOME"!. For my long time bloggy Pals, "WELCOME BACK". I'm so glad to be back posting again. There are sooo many Wonderful and Exciting things going on that I have to try and find a NEW BALANCE! Not too worry, I'll get back to posting on a regular basis as soon as I can. I'm glad you decided to stop by today. It's a Cooking with Cricut (CWC) Designer's Choice Day. The DT at CWC were given the option of pairing up and choosing the next few challenge themes ourselves for each week. Today's challenge is coming from myself and Jill Lebbin of Jaihart - Just Lovely Designs. We decided to kick things off with a "Photo Inspiration" challenge:
What a Beautiful Photo for Inspiration. When I first saw this, I thought of Peace, Calm, Ice Skaters Coasting, Polar Bears Coasting over the water...etc. Then that's when my inspiration hit me... "COASTERS". I created some monogrammed coasters for us to use around the house. Mainly in our bedroom because DH always needs to have something to drink at his bedside. Putting it on the dresser or night shelf was driving me nuts because he would never use napkin or a coaster. Anyhew, this was my creative solution to that. I really like how these came out. The color is just perfect for us as it's contributing to some other Home Decor items I want to match with it later.
Now allow me to share a story with you that I can laugh at now, but I wasn't so cheerful at the time. Anyhew, the picture you see was supposed to show a set of 6 coasters. Somehow, while I was out my little 2yr old got to them when daddy wasn't watching. The others were covered in orange (cat eye)ink and yellow highlighter...SMH(lol-but I wasn't laughing then). I salvaged what I could with these. I used Lacey Labels for the top layer and base(cut out 4x's and glued together). I then cut the top layer and welded the letters from Calligraphy Collection in the center. I inked around the edges with some MS chalk ink. I'm thinking I should go back and apply some modge podge on it just to make them more durable. These would make an excellent wedding gifts for some couple. I have a wedding coming up and I just may need to replicate this. Ok, enough of my rambling... Head on over to Cooking with Cricut to see what the rest of the DT has Inspirationally Created for you. Smooches...
